On February 28, the students and staff participated in our annual Winter Activity Day. This day is dedicated to raising money for various charities including Skate with Daniel and Meagan's Walk. Although Winter Activity Day continues a long tradition of Del events that aim to raise money for our various affiliated charities, it is an event unlike any other school-wide event, such as Terry Fox Day or Sharelife Day. Winter Activity Day gives students from Grades 5-12 the opportunity to choose one of several exciting activities to participate in where they can spend an entire day off-campus bonding and encouraging each other while having a ton of fun. This year's activities included Rock Climbing, Trampolining, Indoor Soccer, Skating, Tubing and Skiing.
Despite registration getting off to a slow start, the administration was happy to see more than 90% of the students participate in this important Del experience. Winter Activity Day is an integral part of school life. It promotes association among our school community and beyond. It brings out the best in our students as they rally around one another through all the various activities offered. Most of all it builds a strong sense of school spirit even when we aren't on campus. In the end, The College is proud of the fact that our students chose to participate and their contribution is a testament to their understanding of the importance of such a day.
Thank you to all the students and staff who made the day go smoothly. We look forward to planning another exciting Winter Activity Day next year!
