Each year the school community pulls together during the Advent season to collect money and food for a local social service agency in the downtown core of the city of Toronto. The "Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd" – a religious order dedicated to the service of the poor and marginalized – run the Good Shepherd Centre. The Centre is a multi-service centre that provides 91 emergency shelter beds, serves over 1000 hot meals daily, and offers support to the homeless and those impacted by substance abuse.
Our entire student body brings in food and money in a competitive spirit to see who can raise the most to support the Good Shepherd Centre.
This year the Lasallian Youth Team came together to build school spirit by challenging the Houses to compete against one another to support the drive. In total, the school raised over $4500 and collected over 2500 items to donate to the Centre. Well done! Congratulations to Brother Alfred who brought in the most money and food.
Thank you to the whole community as we again demonstrate our concern and commitment to the service of the poor right in our own backyard.
