Another year of gorgeous Fall weather as the De La Salle Community took part in the Annual Terry Fox Day Walk & Run on Friday, September 27th. After four productive weeks in the classrooms, students, staff and parents demonstrated their enthusiasm and school spirit throughout the event.
Brandon from the Terry Fox Foundation kicked off the day with an inspiring presentation on the man we all run/walk for, including showing the school a replica of Terry's prosthetic leg that we had during his journey.
Next we saw Student Council host teacher-themed trivia where the students and teachers joined together to face off against the Houses. Congratulations to Brother Arthur for winning it all in the tie breaker round!
A special thank you goes out to the parents who gave of themselves tirelessly to ensure the day's success and for feeding all of the students and staff returning from the walk.
Most importantly, the Del Community pulled together once again to raise much-needed funds for cancer research. I am delighted to report we were able to surpass our goal of $16,000 by raising over $20,000 this year.
