Grade 7s Survive the Wilderness at OPC

Ontario Pioneer Camp is known to be the place where you meet new people and create memories. It was an enjoyable experience as we were taught how to survive in the wilderness and the value of people despite their condition or flaws. We learned that everyone develops and learns at different rates and that it's important that we help others. Being in a different environment showed many students that we didn't need a electronic device with us at all times and that we should open up ourselves to nature. The counsellors were friendly and very supportive, they encouraged many students to try something different and outside of their comfort zone. Some activities that we participated in were archery, axe throwing, and activities that involved trust and teamwork . Our safety was their top priority and it was nice to know that we were in good hands and in a safe environment. The rooms that the students stayed in were very clean and it was very sanitary. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day and the food was very well done. There was enough food for everyone to have as many servings as they desired. OPC was a very fun experience for many students, teachers and staff and everybody learned something new every day. This trip was magnificent!
