February Reflection from Brother Domenic

It is not my intention here to critique the media or to do an analysis of the quality of "news" coverage in our time. Suffice to say though that "news" as we used to understand it can be as seemingly normal as the national news broadcast on television or as bizarre as information through Buzzfeed. Of course, everything in between what might be called serious journalism and sheer insanity exist at our very finger tips literally every second of the day. Anyone, perhaps, most human beings today own a mobile phone that produces this increasingly demented sense of our world to us anytime we want and according to our own tastes and inclinations, and dare I say, sinfulness.I'm a new Text block ready for your content.

Del Doesn't Care About Mental Health

Over the years, I've sometimes heard this phrase from misinformed members of our school community.  As someone who takes pride in the good work we do, and as someone who has their own challenges with anxiety, I can confidently say that this is an absurd statement and can respond in two ways.

News From the Del Parents' Association!

Coming up February 11th -- PA meeting

It may be frosty outside, but it's warm inside the Heritage House! Come join us for our first PA meeting of the year, February 11th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Brother Michael Room of the Heritage House. Brother Domenic and Principal Lundy will provide updates, as well as all the Committee Chairs. Don't miss the talented Theatre De La Salle performers, too, who will be on hand to give us a sneak peek at the Mary Poppins show in April. We look forward to seeing you!

Worth repeating: Gr. 7 Science Fair Judges needed! No science background required
Haven't had a chance to volunteer yet at Del? Here's a great opportunity:

The Grade 7 Science Fair is in the afternoon of Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 from 12:15 p.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m. We would like to have parents to volunteer as judges! This volunteer opportunity is open to anyone in the Del Community, as you do not need to have a child in Grade 7 to participate as a judge. No science experience is required! If you are interested in getting involved, please e-mail Ms. DeGroot,  sdegroot@delasalle.ca. A follow up e-mail will be sent out closer to the date with the specific details of the event.
