What We Offer

We recognize achievement and help families bridge financial need. Awards are limited, reviewed annually, and depend on available funds. Merit scholarships celebrate academic excellence and contribution to school life.
Bursaries provide need-based support. Some named/endowed awards have specific criteria.

How to Apply

  • Apply for school admission (or be a returning student).
  • Meet criteria for the award (merit or need).
  • Merit: recent report cards, references, activity summary.
  • Need-based: financial documentation per guidelines.
  • Submit admissions and aid materials by posted deadlines.
  • Decisions released with (or shortly after) admissions decisions.
  • Awards are annual; continued eligibility required.
  • Amounts may vary with available funds.

Bursaries and Scholarships

Full or partial tuition, renewable on an annual basis. Established through the generosity of an alumnus, Mr. T. Sutton, and supported by other donors. Awarded to students entering Grades Nine to Twelve who demonstrate excellence in mathematics and science.

Full or partial tuition, renewable annually. Established in memory of the late Father M. Luchka. Awarded at any grade level to assist families unable to afford private Catholic education. Recipients must demonstrate willingness to participate in community service projects. Proceeds from the Annual Golf Tournament support this scholarship.

Full tuition, renewable annually. Established during the visit of Brother Alvaro Rodriguez, FSC. Funded by the Brothers of the Christian Schools of Ontario. Awarded to students from local Catholic elementary schools.

Full or partial tuition, renewable annually. Awarded to students entering secondary school who demonstrate academic excellence. Supported by the F. Buckley Family.

Established by the McGrath family to honour John McGrath and his Lasallian education that inspired a life of faith, leadership and service. Recognizes students who embody those values.

Sponsored by the late Brother Isidore Waslylenchuk, FSC. For a student of Ukrainian origin in need of financial assistance. $5,000 distributed annually among applicants. Open to current and new students.

Established in 2011 in memory of Irving Finewax. Full scholarship awarded annually to a deserving Grade Nine student from another faith community. Recipient selected by the President.

Full scholarship established in honour of Brother Domenic Viggiani, FSC (Del ’77). Awarded to a student from the private Catholic School, Mary, Mother of God.

Donated by alumnus Nicanor Catre (Del ’86). Awarded to a student excelling in both varsity sport and artistic endeavour. Value: $1,000.

Donated in 2018 by a family wishing to remain anonymous. Full scholarship awarded to a Grade Seven student with strong academics and a keen interest in athletics.

Awarded annually to deserving and needy students from the Jane-Finch Corridor of Toronto.

$2,000 scholarship for a student in their final year. Applications submitted before the end of Grade Eleven. Directed to the Principal.

Partial bursaries supported by friends of the Catholic mission. Main funding comes from the College’s Annual Fund Campaigns. Provides financial support to families in need.

Full tuition, renewable annually. Established through the generosity of alumnus W. Leonard. Awarded to two students from St. Mary’s Elementary Catholic School who promote Gospel values.

In memory of Tyler Barton (Del ’02). Recipient chosen by the President. Awarded to a student from an economically challenged situation.

Full scholarship awarded annually to a student selected by the President. Fund donated by alumnus Karlo Duvnjak (Del ’76).

Full tuition, renewable annually. In memory of Jonathan Herrmann, alumnus. Awarded to a student from St. Paul’s Catholic Elementary School who demonstrates courage and leadership.

Donated in memory of Matthew Marafioti (Del ’06). Awarded to graduating students with academic excellence and commitment. Value: $3,000 per recipient. Requires minimum three years at the College.

In memory of Robert W. Henry (Del ’48). Awarded to a Grade Nine student from a needy background with strong academics and moral character. Chosen by the President.

In memory of Joe Snidero (Del ’67). $500 awarded to one male and one female athlete who are also good students.

Honours Patrick Sullivan (Del ’62). Awarded to a music program student who inspires enthusiasm, devotion, and regard for De La Salle Oaklands. Includes $1,000, plaque recognition, and annual presentation.

Grade Eleven Award of Merit in memory of Jeremy Schillaci, a former student who passed in 2010. Donated by the Schillaci family.

Awarded to students with the highest overall average in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Female recipient: Dr. Giacomo Martino Award; Male recipient: Dr. Rocco Martino Award.

Established by the Sinclair family. Awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, humility, and entering studies in engineering, sciences, or finance/business.

For graduates with the highest average in accounting and economics, active in extracurriculars, and accepted into a university business program. Donated by the Mastromarini family.

Presented to students who embody the Gospel of Life, defending human dignity and life. Two awards (male and female) are reserved annually.

Awarded to graduating students who exemplify the Lasallian traits of Faith, Zeal, and Commitment to community service. Selected unanimously by administration and staff.

Donated by Melita and Paul DeFransca (Del ’91). Includes a $1,000 prize. Awarded to a student excelling in international law studies.

Donated by Dr. and Mrs. Poon. Awarded to a student pursuing post-secondary Arts/Humanities or Social Sciences at a Canadian university. Recognizes exceptional diligence.

The Mario Boscarino Scholarship is awarded to a student that participates and excels in school athletics that is in need of financial assistance. Athletics play a critical role in a student’s social development and in establishing the core Lasallian values that distinguish De La Salle students.
