MEET THE STUDENT SERVICES TEAM 

Ms. Roxas

Ms. Gloria Roxas is the department’s administrative assistant and the longest standing member of the team – since 2002! 

 

Mr. Voutsinos

Mr. Voutsinos is the Director of Student Services and oversees the department. He is also a Vice Principal, and coaches Senior Boys D1 Soccer and Senior Girls D1 soccer.  

 

The Guidance Counsellors  

Mr. Stratton

Mr. Stratton is a former student of De La Salle.  He made his return to the College working for Del Active Sports camp and then joined the Physical Education department in 2011.  He has been a member of the Student Services Department for the last seven years. 

Mr. Stratton coaches the Senior Boys Hockey Team, and he also is a teacher moderator for Link Crew.  He will be teaching one section of Careers.  

 

Ms. Richards

Ms. Richards is excited to start her fourth year as a guidance counselor at De La Salle. She has previously taught grade 12 English, grade 9 Drama, and grade 10 Careers and Civics.  Outside of school, Ms. Richards is a professional hockey player and is a member of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association.  

Ms. Richards will be coaching the Varsity Girls Hockey team and teaching a section of Careers. 

 

Ms. Elder

Ms. Elder is the newest member of the student services team, and is excited to be back at De La Salle having previously attended De La Salle as a student.  

Ms. Elder is a Link Crew teacher moderator, and coordinates Peer Tutoring. She is teaching 4 sections of Careers.  

 

Mrs. Williams

Mrs. Williams has been with the department for the last six years. While she is on maternity leave for the start of this year, we are looking forward to welcoming her back in the spring, and hope she and her family are well. 

 

ADD/DROP FORMS     

The deadline for Add/Drop forms is Friday, September 16, 2022. Please submit your forms to Student Services before the deadline if you would like to request changes to your schedule.  

 

UPCOMING UNIVERSITY VISITS  

We are very excited to welcome back university representatives for a series of visits beginning next week.  These visits are a great opportunity to find out specific information from universities that you may be interested in applying to.  To attend a visit, you are required to sign up in Student Services.  

Students are invited to come to the Student Services office to see the scheduled upcoming University visits. Grade 12 students may miss a maximum of 3 classes to attend university visits. Grade 11 students are only permitted to attend during their ILT.  

The United States College Expo will be held in Student Commons on Wednesday, September 21st. All students are welcome to attend during their ILT.  

 

ONTARIO UNIVERSITY FAIR  

The Ontario Universities Fair is back!  This event is fair style with booths from Ontario universities.  It allows you to gather information and chat with representatives one on one. 

October 1-2, 2022, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm (ET) daily 

Metro Toronto Convention Centre

·             Prize Night – Friday, September 16th, 2022

Women in MotorSport

The following is a message from alumnus, Alyssa Wing, (Class of 2020)

 

The University of Toronto Formula Racing Team is hosting a Women in Motorsport Panel featuring professional race car drivers Demi Chalkias and Samantha Tan, as well as mechanics Nhu Nguyen and Meghan McEwen! Get insight into their career journey, barriers they faced, and advice on how to enter the industry.

It will be held on September 15th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in Sandford Fleming, Room 1105.
