Del Golf Using Tech to take Swings to New Heights!
Student-athletes on the De La Salle Golf Team have been utilizing technology to improve their game. Training started in early April in our state-of-the-art simulator where they received feedback on key metrics like launch angle, spin rate, carry distance, and ball speed. In addition, each student received a video analysis of their swing.
Most recently, the team travelled to The Performance Lab, a premier sports science facility, where they were suited up in what looked like superhero costumes to use 3D Motion Capture and Force Plate Technology to give feedback and help them reach their potential. The Performance Lab is owned by alumn Dr. Carmine Filice (DEL 97).
Carmine graciously donated his time and resources to measure and analyze the swings of our students so they can tee it high and let it fly.
