Christmas Message from the Alumni Office
After what was yet another trying year, its conclusion draws near as we enter the Christmas season. This time of year never fails to evoke moments of reflection on the year that was, the time that has passed, and for those of whom which we are thankful.
Our teaching and administrative staff have done incredible work to make the most of the past two school years to maximize the experiences of our student body. Their efforts have been admirable as they have had to adjust and adapt countless times to the changing climate brought forth by the pandemic. A large debt of gratitude is owed to them as we reflect on the challenges they have faced. Most importantly, our students have shown a tremendous amount of resilience, adaptability and resourcefulness. The school experience has been drastically different over the past two years, but our students have faced these challenges head on and have continued to excel academically. Last but not least, we are grateful for our community of alumni, parents and friends of the College. Without the community’s generosity, time and willingness to help, the last two years would have not been so successful.
As the landscape of education continues to evolve with the changing global circumstances, it is a testament to our values that the mission of De La Salle College “Oaklands” continues to thrive. This can be seen in our current students and alumni sacrificing their time and money to serve others. The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development looks forward to 2022 in hopes of getting back to the events and reunions which have allowed our community to stay connected. We are optimistic and look forward to seeing you again soon. In the spirit of an ever renewing, ever rejuvenating creative holy day, holiday, we heartily wish a very Merry Christmas to one and all in our Del Community. God Bless us everyone.
